Share year, make, model or vessel/aircraft/property type, finish color, approximate size, known repairs, and current protection.
For a car, include year, make, model, paint or wrap type, and known protection. For a vessel or aircraft, add class, approximate dimensions, finish, selected zones, and storage or facility context. Sensitive identifiers are not needed to start.
Name the outcome
Explain what bothers you, what you want preserved, how the asset is used, and whether an event or deadline matters.
Describe the ownership problem in ordinary language: swirls in direct sun, dull gelcoat, stained carpet, salt film, a delivery deadline, or maintenance that has become difficult. That is more useful than guessing a package.
Photograph honestly
Wide views establish context; close views show defects. Include the worksite, access, and any area of concern in natural and direct light.
Take wide views for context, closer views of each concern, and a worksite view. Natural light plus direct light can reveal different conditions. Do not enhance images or hide damage with dressing.
Confirm the worksite
Tell us about shade, garage or hangar space, water, power, security, clearance, facility authorization, pets, and access windows.
A mobile address is not yet a worksite plan. Share enclosure or shade, water, power, clearance, security, runoff limits, stairs or lift needs, facility permission, and the uninterrupted time available.
COMMON MISTAKE
What to avoid
Cleaning, polishing, applying dressing, or moving the asset into flattering light immediately before the assessment. That can hide the condition the proposal needs to address.
